Macramé

(Ages 4–11)

Our macramé classes are designed for children ages 6 to 12 and are limited to 12 participants per class to ensure a calm, personalized experience. Set in a beautiful woodland environment, our sessions take place in a cozy indoor space—with the option to move into our outdoor classroom when the weather allows. Being surrounded by nature enhances creativity, focus, and joy.

Each class brings something new! Children will explore a variety of macramé techniques and projects throughout the year, from simple knot patterns to seasonal crafts. 

How Our Programs Inspire Growth

Fine Motor Skills

  • Macramé involves gripping, twisting, pulling, and threading—all of which strengthen hand muscles and finger dexterity.
  • Prepares younger kids (3–5) for writing and other coordination-based tasks.

Hand-Eye Coordination

  • Kids learn to follow knot patterns and sequences, which trains their eyes and hands to work together smoothly.

Focus & Patience

  • Creating a macramé piece takes time and repetition, helping kids practice concentration, persistence, and delayed gratification.
  • Encourages mindfulness as they become absorbed in a calming, rhythmic activity.

Creativity & Self-Expression

  • Children get to pick colors, patterns, and project styles, giving them room to express themselves and take ownership of their creations.

Spatial Awareness & Pattern Recognition

  • Understanding how knots come together in a sequence boosts cognitive development and spatial reasoning.
  • Reinforces early math skills (like symmetry, sequencing, and pattern recognition).

Social Skills & Teamwork (especially in group classes)

  • Kids learn to share space, ask for help, and give compliments as they work alongside others.
  • Builds confidence in communicating and collaborating.

Emotional Regulation

  • The slow, repetitive motion of knotting can be soothing—great for kids who struggle with big emotions, anxiety, or overstimulation.
  • Helps build patience, pride, and resilience through creative problem-solving.

Class Schedule

We offer weekly 1-hour macrame sessions divided by age group:

Pricing

All materials are included—children will receive high-quality, age-appropriate supplies for each project.

Classes are kept small (maximum of 12 children) to ensure focused instruction and a relaxed, creative experience.

Once we receive your completed form, we’ll confirm your spot and provide all the details you need to get started. Spaces are limited to 12 children per class, so early registration is encouraged!
